The truth is most of us listening fall somewhere in the middle. Most people won't achieve All time world record yet most people have the potential inside them to achieve a high level and even an elite total in time!
More often then not people who feel like they are "stuck" just need to put in more time and effort and adjust their attitude toward training.
You can't change your genetics yet you can change your attitude and the effort you put in at the gym ! That will allow you to reach your true potential no matter where you fall on the "bell curve"

In this Throw Back Episode Coach Gags outlines the training methods and exercise selection he used in order to achieve his goal of squatting 800 in the 198 class.
Typically when starting a new meet prep there are several factors to consider. This is a good time to work on weak points, use exercises that general force you to use less weight and a longer range of motion in order to give you something to build towards moving closer and closer to the contest.
Coach Gaglione gives some examples of exercise variations that work well when you are far out from a meet and want to prep your body to handle heavy weights deeper in the prep.
